As a parent, can I add additional restrictions to my student’s iPad?

Screen Time
Parents can apply additional restrictions beyond what NRCA has already set on the iPad. Below is a link to Apple’s website where additional information can be found on how to add restrictions to your student’s iPad via Screen Time parental controls. Please note, you can always add additional restrictions but you are not able to disable any settings that have been preset by NRCA.
Another great resource is the Protect Young Eyes website where there are instructions showing easy to follow explanations and pictures on how to set up Screen Time with suggested settings. If you are setting up Screen Time for the first time and want to follow the Protect Young Eyes blog setup, it is suggested to start with “iOS 13 Parental Controls” article knowing there are updates with each iOS release. The iOS 13 article shows the most comprehensive explanation of each of the controls.
During the Screen Time set up process you will be asked to set a “Screen Time Passcode”. This passcode should be different than your iPad passcode and something that you know but your student does not know or something that can be easily guessed.
Warning
If you lose or forget your Screen Time passcode NRCA does not have the ability to clear or reset that passcode.
