I’m in Kindergarten – 3rd grade at NRCA, where do I start?

Welcome to North Raleigh Christian Academy!

We are glad you are here. In an effort to make your transition at NRCA as smooth as possible we have created this page to assist you through the waters of using technology at NRCA. While this guide does not contain everything related to using your iPads every day in class, it will provide you with some answers to some of the main questions that we hear from new students. When you picked up your iPad, you should have received your NRCA username and password. You will use the same username and password to access PowerSchool, Schoology, Office 365, the NRCA WiFi, and much more.

The NRCA Technology Department

We use many different technology systems here at NRCA and they work together to bring your student the best educational experience possible. For additional help on any of these systems, click on the name below.

PowerSchool is NRCA’s Student Information System (SIS). The SIS is where the student’s schedule, demographic information, grades, etc. are stored. New NRCA parents should receive a letter from the admissions office with information about creating their parent account.

Schoology is NRCA’s Learning Management System (LMS). It is a virtual learning environment for K-12 schools that allows users to create, manage, and share academic content. Parents can create their own account and connect it to their student’s account so that they can see upcoming homework and tests or look at completed assignments and grades. Official grades with averages are kept in PowerSchool only.

Incident IQ is the school’s help desk platform. Students who need assistance with their iPad or any of the systems listed here can submit a help desk request and someone from the Technology Department will get in touch with them to assist them. Parents as well can submit a request if they need assistance with passwords, accounts, etc.
